"A plasterer is a tradesman who works with plaster, such as forming a layer of plaster on an interior wall or plaster decorative moldings on ceilings or walls. The process of creating plasterwork, called plastering, has been used in building construction for centuries." There are many different ways and methods as to how plastering can be achieved, for example plasterboard can be dot and dabbed onto brick before the boards get a final skim over ready for paint or wallpaper, if there is no internal brick and you have joists, then plasterboard is screwed into the joists before being skimmed over with plaster.
If you have areas of a wall that is in poor repair, for example brick falling away, or holes in brickwork then the area can ne renderd using bonding or hardwall. There are also specialist plasterboards such as fire panel for around fireplaces, or moisture board for around a wet room or bathroom. Plasterbaord can also be repaired and it is common to find a hole in a wall that can easily be repaired with a new small section of plasterboard as opposed to replacing the whole board.
